A monolith has appeared on Sherbrooke St. Alien visitors or steely hoax?

No one questioned why other life forms would choose Notre-Dame-de-Grâce to leave a message.

UPDATE: By 9 a.m. Saturday, the monolith had vanished, replaced by two very earthly construction cones. The entire drama can be viewed through N.D.G. resident Alex Montagano’s Facebook page.

Metal monoliths are appearing all over the world, so clearly N.D.G. was next in line.

West-end Facebook users were atwitter with alien conspiracy theories Friday when a photo was posted to a public community group showing a monolith on a sidewalk on Sherbrooke St. near Wilson Ave.

No one questioned why other life forms would choose Notre-Dame-de-Grâce to leave a message.

Other monoliths have been seen in Utah, California, Pennsylvania and Romania, but have since vanished, leaving one to wonder whether the aliens have left a time-sensitive missive that has yet to be decoded.
